Enroll Now with South Metro Driving School

This page is for students ages 15 to 17 who have completed 30 hours of Classroom Driver Education and are ready to move forward to take the Knowledge Test. You will need your Classroom Completion Letter from the State Approved Driver Education Program where you completed 30 classroom hours and the ability to financially commit to SMDS. Complete the form below to submit your information to SMDS and receive a E-Card (Blue Card). After you pass the Knowledge Test, circle back to South Metro Driving School to Schedule Behind-The-Wheel Lessons.

After Enrolling with SMDS, you will be directed to the Services page to purchase 6-hours of Behind-The-Wheel lessons to be scheduled at a later date. You must purchase these lessons before moving on to take the Knowledge Test.

What happens next? SMDS will process your information to the State DMV System and you will receive an email confirmation from the state of Minnesota within 2 to 3 business days - that email is is your E-Card. It is very important for you to confirm the information in your E-Card is correct; your full legal name must be correct and match both your Primary and Secondary Forms of ID. If you notice errors, please notify SMDS and we will make corrections. Failure to confirm the accuracy of this information may lead to unnecessary stress and delays on testing day.
